Euonymus scale is common among euonymus plants and can be destructive. Adult scale are a very small white insect that remain stationary. They feed on the plant by sucking fluid from the leaves and stems, leaving yellow spots on the top surface of leaves. A small population will do little damage but as the population grows they will cause branches to die out and eventually the whole plant can become defoliated. A systemic or foliar insecticide will kill the scale, and the most effective time of year to control euonymus scale is when they are in their more vulnerable larvae stage.
